Prigozhin, Leader of Wagner Group, Officially Declared Deceased Following Genetic Testing – Russia

Russian authorities have officially verified the demise of Yevgeny Prigozhin, the leader of the Wagner Group. This confirmation comes subsequent to the genetic examination of the remains discovered in the plane wreckage that occurred on Wednesday.

The occurrence took place within the Bologovsky district of the Tver region, situated 60 miles north of Moscow, as earlier reported by Naija News.

Prigozhin’s passing transpired in conjunction with seven passengers and three crew members who were aboard the Embraer aircraft. The Investigative Committee, in a statement issued on Sunday, conveyed that the identities of all ten individuals who perished in the incident have been determined and align with those listed on the flight’s passenger manifest.

Despite the statement, no particulars were provided regarding the potential causes of the crash.

“Molecular and genetic tests have been completed as part of the investigation of the plane crash in the Tver region. According to their finding, all ten victims have been identified. They fully match the list on the flight manifest,” the committee said in a statement to Interfax, the Russian newswire.

The Kremlin has denied speculation it was to blame for the crash.
